DAY 1 : Arrival Cairo international airport, meet and assist through formalities. Transfer to hotel. Check-in, meet with tour leader Jaqui and overnight.

DAY 2 : Breakfast. Full day Cairo sightseeing tour. Includes: the Pyramids at Giza, the Sphinx, the incredible Egyptian Museum, Saladin Citadel and the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, and the Old Bazaar of Khan El Khalili.
Evening: Sound and Light show at Giza Pyramids.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 : Breakfast at hotel.
Transfer to Cairo Airport for flight to Luxor.
Embarkation and lunch onboard cruise.
Visit the Karnak and Luxor Temples.
Evening: Sound and Light show the Karnak Temple.
Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 4 : Buffet Breakfast on board.
Visit the West Bank of the Nile. See the Colossi of Memnon, Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple at Deir El Bahari, and visit the Valley of the Kings.
Lunch on board and then sail to Esna.

DAY 5 : Buffet Breakfast. Sail to Edfu and visit the Temple of Edfu dedicated to the god Horus.
Lunch onboard whilst sailing to Kom-Ombo.
Visit the Kom-Ombo Temple which was a medical and birthing centre for women and dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris.
Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 6 : Buffet breakfast on board. Morning sail to Aswan.
Visit the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae.
Lunch on board.
Afternoon: Felucca tour around Elephentine Island, and the Botanical Gardens.
Dinner and overnight on board in Aswan.

DAY 7 : Breakfast and disembarkation from cruise ship.
Transfer to Abu Simbel and proceed to visit the Abu Simbel Temples built into the mountainside. One of the most amazing sights you will ever see.
Transfer to Aswan Airport for your flight back to Cairo.

DAY 8 : Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Cairo Airport for your departure.

IS THIS A PRIVATE TOUR?

This journey of Egypt has some private touring, and some regular touring with other travellers.

ARE ENTRANCE FEES INCLUDED?

All entrance fees to sites and museums mentioned in the itinerary are included, as is the service of a professional guide to give you depth and insight into the cultural heritage that is Egypt.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE IN EGYPT?

Egypt enjoys a reasonably liberal dress code, but please remember it is a predominantly Islamic country. Therefore, if you are planning to enter mosques or other religious sites, ladies should carry a light scarf to cover their head and shoulders, and men should wear long pants or shorts below the knee, again with shoulders covered.

CAN I GET A VISA UPON ARRIVAL IN EGYPT?

Yes, Australian passport holders can obtain a visa upon arrival into Cairo. The current cost is approximately US$25, and it can be paid either in cash or by credit card. You can, of course, also obtain a visa at the Egyptian Consulate or Embassy prior to departure in your closest city.

CAN I STAY LONGER THAN THE TOUR?

You can always stay longer than the duration of all our tours. And, if you ask us to create a boutique experience especially for you and your travelling party, we will ensure that it is a unique and exciting journey made exclusively for you.

DO YOUR TOURS STILL RUN DURING RAMADAN?

Yes, all our tours run throughout the year, including during the Holy Month of Ramadan, the most important religious event in the Islamic calendar. During this time, you are requested to enjoy food and drink (prior to the break of the fast) in your room or, at times, the hotels and cruise vessels will have a partitioned section to accommodate overseas travellers.
