FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE IN JORDAN?

Jordan enjoys a reasonably liberal dress code, but please remember it is a predominantly Islamic country. Therefore, if you are planning to enter mosques or other religious sites, ladies should carry a light scarf to cover their head and shoulders, and men should wear long pants or shorts below the knee, again with shoulders covered.

HOW LONG DO YOU SUGGEST WE STAY IN PETRA?

The magnificent “rose red” city of Petra is best taken in over the course of 2 days. We suggest visiting Petra with a licenced local guide for a few hours the first time, just to get your bearings, and then spend another day exploring the city on your own.

I DON’T THINK I CAN WALK THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE SIQ

If you have knee, hip or mobility problems, please let us know. With enough time to organise it, we can arrange for a horse and buggy to take you the length of the Siq in order to arrive at The Treasury in Petra.

DO I NEED A VISA FOR JORDAN?

Australian passport holders do require a visa to enter Jordan. It is your responsibility to ensure you have all the right documentation for your journey however, feel free to contact us for guidance.
