Cyprus - Monastery at Omodos, and Church of the Holy CrossDepartures: All Year Round

Duration: 8 days/7 nights

Day 1
This morning, visit the Monastery of Agia Napa and the sea caves at Cape Greco.  Time permitting, we may also take in the occupied town of Famagusta and visit the ruins of Salamis built by the Greeks in the 12th BC.  See the Old City within the Venetian walls, and the Cathedral of St. Nicholas built in the 14th century and now a mosque.
Overnight in Larnaca.  (B)

Day 2

Today we head to Nicosia and cross the dividing line to visit the occupied city of Kerynia. Visit the castle by the harbor, erected during the Byzantine period.  Within it, we visit the museum with the ship wreck from the Hellenistic period found at the Harbor of Kerynia. Enjoy a light lunch in this delightful town before heading to Bellapais Abbey, an old monastery built in the Frankish period.  Continue onto Nicosia and visit the Cathedral of Saint Sophia built in the 14th century.  Walk to the dividing line and walk across to Laiki Yitonia, the old city of Nicosia.  Overnight in Nicosia.  (B/L)

Day 3
Visit the Cathedral of Saint John and the Byzantine Museum before heading to Lefkara Village, famous for its lace. Enjoy lunch at Vavatsinia Village before heading to the historic Macheras Monastery with its beautiful church, built in the 12th century.  Travel through Ficardou traditional village a traditional village with its authentic architecture before overnighting in Agros Village.  (B)

Day 4 

Today, enter some of the most important UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the church of Panagia Tou Araka in Lagoudera Village, and Panagia Podithou Church. Enjoy lunch in Galata at Vengeras Restaurant.  See the traditional sweets workshop in Agros Villageas, as well as the rose factory. Overnight in Argos Village.  (B/L)

Day 5

See the traditional village of Kakopetria and the UNESCO church of Agios Nicolaos built in the 11th century. Continue to the famous Kykkos Monastery before enjoying lunch at the Pavilion Restaurant attached to the monastery. Continue to Paphos via the Cedar Valley and visit Chrysorogiatisa Monastery in Panagia Village, erected in the 12th century.  Overnight in Paphos.  (B/L)

Day 6

Visit the village of Geroskipou and its delightful Church of Agia Paraskevi before heading to a local store which still makes the traditional Cypriot sweets. Take in the Baths of Aphrodite before enjoying lunch at the Harbour of Latchi at the Sea Crest Restaurant, and visit a local winery in Kathikas Village.
Overnight in Paphos.  (B/L)

Day 7

The Roman mosaics at the Harbor of Paphos await you today, as do the UNESCO-listed Tombs of the Kings.  Visit Saint Paul’s Pillar  and have lunch at Kouklia Village at Thanasis Tavern before heading to the ancient Kingdom of Kourion, the house of Efstolios and the Theatre.  See too the Castle of Kolossi build by the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem.  Continue onto Limassol and overnight.

Day 8
Farewell the beautiful island of Cyprus today, with a transfer from Limassol to Larnaca Airport for your onward flight.  (B)
