DAY 1 Tehran

Upon arrival into Tehran, you will be met by one of our representatives and transferred to your hotel. Later this afternoon, enjoy a visit to the Iranian Carpet Museum housing some of the most beautiful carpets & tapestries in the Islamic world. Visit also Sa’adabad Palace and Gardens, home to the former Shah of Iran and now converted into a museum. (B)

DAY 2 Tehran

Continue exploring Tehran today, visiting the Golestan Palace where coronations of the former Shah and his father took place. Particularly notable are the Hall of Mirrors and the Garden Hall, both archaeological museums housing 7000 years of Persian history, from the 5th millennium BCE to the 19th century AD. Later this afternoon, fly to the desert town of Kerman and overnight. (B)

DAY 03 Kerman – Mahan – Rayen – Kerman

35 kms from Kerman lays Mahan, with its mausoleum of Shah Nematollah Vali, a 15th century Sufi Dervish. Mahan also boasts the traditional Shaadeh Historical Gardens, or Bagh-e Tarikhi, fom the Qajar period. Continue to Rayen to visit Rayen Citadel before returning to Kerman. (B)

DAY 04 Kerman – Yazd

Visit the famous Jame Mosque, architecturally designed in classical Iranian style. Visit the beautiful Ganj Ali Khan Bath and Ethnological Museum in the Vakil Bazaar (traditional tea-house), featuring a brilliant exhibition of waxworks of traditional Iranian life in a bygone era. Drive to Yazd en route visit Zeinoddine Caravanserai. (B)

DAY 5 Yazd

Yazd is without a doubt one of the most attractive towns in Iran, famous for its pretty wind towers that provide natural air conditioning for the locals, and its network of kuchés, or narrow laneways. It is also the centre of Zoroastrianism. See the Towers of Silence and the breathtaking 14th century Masjed-é Jame Mosque, and the spectacular 15th century Amir Chakhmaq Mosque. Visit also the significant 11th century tomb of the 12 Imams and Alexander’s Prison, a circular pit said to have been built by Alexander the Great. (B)

DAY 6 Yazd – Shiraz

Drive to Yazd via Abarkouh, one of the major passes on the Silk Road. It is here you will also find the Shrines of Tavous Alharamin, Pir Hamzeh Sabzpoush, Ezeddin Nasafi as well as other significant religious figures. Continue to ancient Passargad, visiting the Saravan Village, the Dokhtar Palace, the restored Sassanian Palace and Ardeshir-e Babakan Palace. Upon arrival into Shiraz, enjoy the evening at leisure. (B)

DAY 7 Shiraz

Visit the mausoleums of the two venerated Persian poets, Hafiz & Sa’adi, as well as Nasirolmolk Mosque, and Bagh-e Eram also known as the “Garden Of Paradise”, home to a pretty 19th century Qajar Palace. The famous cypress tree of Shiraz is also seen here. Visit also Narenjistan-e qavam before retiring to your hotel for the night. (B)

DAY 8 Shiraz – Perspolis – Shiraz – Isfahan

Drive to Isfahan, en route taking in the magnificent Achaemenian city of Perspolis. Beyond the gate lie the Hall of 100 Columns, the Apadana Palace, the Tachara (or Winter Palace) of Darius, the Unfinished Palace of Artaxerxes III, the Palace of Xerxes’ and the Tripylon Palace. Visit the mountain rock-cut tombs of Artaxerxes II & Artaxerxes III as well as Nash-e Rostam, where the four cliff tombs of Darius I, Darius II, Artaxerxes and Xerxes’ I are located. Overnight in Ifsahan. (B)

DAY 9 Isfahan

Enjoy a full day’s sightseeing to Chehel Sutun including Imam Square, and Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, a masterpiece of architecture and tile work. Also visit the Friday Mosque as well as the Mausoleum of Velayat Haroun with its exceptional portal and the minaret of Ali-Qapou. (B)

DAY 10 Isfahan

Today, you will visit the Armenian Cathedral of Vank (Saint Savior) established in 1606, the era of the first Armenian immigration to Isfahan. Take in Imam Mosque Masjid-e Jam’e Abbasi, one of the finest and the most stunning mosques in the world. This afternoon, visit the Old Bazaar and enjoy haggling with the locals on rugs, souvenirs, spices and much, much more! (B)

DAY 11 Isfahan – Natanz – Abyaneh – Kashan – Tehran

Return to Tehran, en route visiting Jame Mosque in Natanz and Abyaneh village. Continue to Kashan and see the enchanting Fin Garden with its natural springs, the Agha Bozorg Mosque and School, and the beautiful house of the merchant Boroujerdi. Overnight in Tehran. (B)

DAY 12 Departure

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
