Day 1: Depart Athens (Lavrion) 14.30 Spending half a day in Lavrion, an ancient silver mining centre, you may wish to also visit the Temple of Poseidon, with its stunning view of the Saronic Gulf, and Cape Sounion.

Set sail for Syros, the Cycladic Princess. Expect the warmest of welcomes as you wander the cobbled streets of Ermoupoli town and its magnificent central square.

Day 2: Continue onto Cesme, one of the most popular resorts on the Turkish coast.

Day 3: Sail to the pretty Greek Isle of Kos, home of Hippocrates.

Day 4: From there, onto the tiny isle, Ios, home to fabulous beaches and 365 churches! Our final stop is Santorini, its mighty cliffs rising from the blue waters of the Aegean. Take a gentle jeep safari to the interior or a cruise to Santorini’s smaller islands and volcanoes.

Day 5: Mykonos, renowned for its stunning beaches, iconic windmills and sea breezes.

Day 6: Leaving Mykonos behind, sail to the port of quiet Kusadasi in Turkey, where you may also visit the open-air museum at Ephesus. Sail onto Samos, home to some of the great minds of ancient Greece, including Aesop and Pythagoras.

Day 7: Continue sailing to the quaint island of Milos, boasting the best beaches in the Cyclades.

Day 8: Arrive Athens (Lavrion), 6 am
