Depart from our meeting point for one day tour via the Corinth Canal, after which point we enter the Argolis region, land of Homer’s Golden Fleece.  Mycenae is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.  Visit the the Cyclopean Walls, the Lion’s Gate, the Royal Tombs, and the Treasury of Atreus.

After lunch (optional, additional cost) travel through Argos and head to Nauplia, the first capital of modern Greece with its Venetian fortress.
Continue on to Epidaurus and visit the ancient theatre. This UNESCO World Heritage listed monument is reputed to be the birthplace of Apollo’s son Asklepios.  Epidaurus is most famous for its theatre, one of the best preserved classical Greek buildings and still used today due to its amazing acoustics.  Return to Athens in the late afternoon.
